Body protection products are not designed for a single risk group. Knee pads, elbow pads, protective wrist guards, coveralls and other protective equipment can target different parts of the body and different workplace risks. That is why choosing a product should start with identifying your protection needs.
With knee and elbow protectors, it is important that the product fits the body correctly, does not restrict movement unnecessarily during work and suits the intended application. Check the material and fastening method in the product description.
Products such as aramid wrist guards or protective arm sleeves may be designed for specific mechanical risks. However, the material name alone does not indicate the level of protection. If cut resistance or similar performance values are required, verify the manufacturer's technical data and the relevant standard separately.
Disposable coveralls and coveralls made from different materials can have different applications. Where protection against liquids, chemicals, particles or other specific risks is required, do not rely on the product name alone; always refer to the manufacturer's documentation.
With body protection products, the correct size or dimensions affect wearing comfort as well as protection. If product measurements are given, compare them with your own body measurements and make sure the equipment does not hinder your movements at work.
If the head, eyes, hands or other areas also need protecting at work, consider the relevant PPE categories together.
