Use and Selection
Check the shoe size (EU) while wearing the socks you will use at work. There should be no pressure at the toe, and the heel should not noticeably slip when walking. Match the protection class and sole properties to your workplace risk assessment.
Fit and Care
After use, remove surface dirt using a method suitable for the material. Dry the shoes away from direct heat sources, and check the sole, stitching and toe area for any damage.
Mekap 230 Energy S2 at a glance
- S2 class: In addition to S1 features (closed heel, antistatic properties, energy absorption in the heel area), the upper resists water penetration and water absorption.
- Composite toe cap: Metal-free toe protection; it is an advantage at metal-detector entrances and conducts less heat than a steel toe cap in cold environments.
- SRC slip resistance: The outsole has passed tests both on ceramic tile with soap solution and on steel with glycerine.
- Smooth leather upper and antistatic properties; the product does not include a penetration-resistant midsole (S2 does not cover this feature).
FAQ
Is the Mekap 230 Energy waterproof?
The S2 class refers to the upper's resistance to water penetration and absorption; it does not make the shoe fully waterproof. If you work on constantly wet ground, a waterproof boot (S4/S5) is more suitable.
Can it be used on construction sites with nails and sharp objects?
No penetration-resistant midsole is specified for this model. If there is a risk of nails, sheet metal or glass on the ground, choose an S1P or S3 model.
